Zoe is enrolling....

Zoe, Nadia's friend, whose blogspot attached to Nadia's blogspot.... her mommy, Sara, decided to enroll Zoe at Kidsland Montessori so Nadia can play with Zoe... she will start just once a week for full day...
Yay, that's a wonderful news....

We sat outside on the patio after dinner, enjoying the really nice summer, Nadia saw mommy's mole on the right arm, near the shoulder and she asked mommy :"mommy, what's that ?" and mommy answered in Indonesian :"It is 'TAHI LALAT', Nadia giggles and giggles.... she loved it.. and kept saying tahi lalat several times... it was really funny because tahi lalat if you really blindly transla te it to English, it means :"Flies' poop" and Nadia knows what that means....

She got so attached with Donald Duck movies, mom and Nadia watched it yesterday together and she watched it again and repeated every single comments mommy told nadia yesterday.... even the title.. That was impressing because her memory is really good.

Candi Prambanan (Prambanan Temple)

Pictures of Prambanan Temple, located in the Central Java, Indonesia. One of the tourists attraction from around the world before the earthquake, which happened not long ago.

I thought I might want to share the pictures of the whole complex and one of the relief inside one of the temple, before the earthquake. I visited this temple when I went to dental school on the 3rd year in 1994.

Earthquake in Indonesia

Here is the news about earthquake happened in part of Indonesia. Sari come from Jakarta, which is located in the same island as the Yogyakarta city. This city was affected by the really strong earthquakes. 6000 people died so far.

We have 2 very famous temple, one is Hindu temple (Prambanan) and the other is Budhist temple (Borobudur). Prambanan temple got damaged from this earthquakes.

A lot of our friends here in the States called Sari, asking if my family got affected by the earthquakes. They are so nice thinking about Sari and the family. Thankfully, my family is safe and sound in Jakarta, which is not affected by the terrible earthquake. My heart goes to the victims, May God help them.

Here is the news about it.

The recent earthquake on Indonesia's island of Java badly damaged the famous Prambanan temple complex, sending intricate stone carvings crashing to the ground and destroying years of restoration work in less than a minute.

Recognized as a U.N. World Heritage Site, the ninth-century temple and the nearby Borobudur Buddhist complex are reminders of the rich Hindu and Buddhist past of what is now the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Together they have about one million visitors a year.

The seventh-century Buddhist complex, situated farther from the epicenter of Saturday's 6.3-magnitude quake, appeared to have escaped harm. But the deadly quake caused extensive damage to Prambanan, one of Southeast Asia's largest Hindu temple compounds.

Yesterday, large chunks of broken walls and carvings lay scattered at the foot of the eight main shrines. Pieces of small temples, or "candis," also had broken off.

I am going bananas!!!

We had a birthday party for Sari's birthday, also making a playdate for Nadia at the same time. I has been really long time that Nadia didn't play with lots of kids at the same time and she just went bananas...
We had never seen her like that.. she plays with all bigger kids, but they play with Nadia so well, she ran like a mad girl, she was just so happy... happy ... happy... Her dress and hair were all soaking wet with a cute tomato cheeks because she was so hot....It was just a very successful birthday, not only Nadia was so happy, but all the parents were so pleased with the wonderful food Sari cook. Even Daddy was so impressed with the food and the party.
It was just so cute to see all the kids played so well together even while they were playing, they sang happy birthday song together for Nadia's mommy. It was really nice crowd.
We made a surprise for guess birthday party since none of them knew that it was Sari's birthday party, except Bill.

I want to play with Uncle Bill

Mommy has been so busy going to the grocery stores and spent hundreds of dollars at the Indonesian grocery stores 1 hour away from home. She came home, arranged all the messy disorganized stuff in the pantry room and started loading the 4 big boxes or groceries. She also was busy picking up the menu for the party tomorrow. Yeah, it's Mommy's birthday party.
Uncle Bill came over from Bay City at 4 pm then we picked Nadia up from school and for the first time, she was just ready to go home the minute she sees uncle Bill.
yeah, Nadia loves uncle bill so much because for the last 2 days, she kept asking mommy to go to uncle bill's house... she misses him.
Mommy cooked the yummiest food ever, it's indonesian dish (fried rice with salted fish), Indonesian coconut milk with chicken dishes, and also the chicken curry. The boys (Daddy and uncle Bill) were eating and kept saying how wonderful the food were, it was unexpected for mommy to cook still for them after the really hectic day..
Nadia slept at 9.30 pm and Daddy went to sleep right away. Uncle Bill helped Mommy clean up the dinner mess, then we were all headed to bed... we couldn't even stay up any longer.... it was 10 pm, everyone was falling asleep... zzzzz zzzzz zzzz

Finally playdate again at Luca's

After Chiara was born, Nadia misses her buddy, Luca so much, almost the days when she is not in school, she asked mommy: "mommy, can we go to luca's house, pleazeeee!!!!! I want to play with Luca"
So during the busy time which Maria, luca's mom had, I tried to make Nadia forget about Luca and go around the city to do some stuff.
Finally we made it. We went to Luca's house and Nadia had fun playing with Luca. Luca and Nadia have the same personality, so they play really well together. Oba, Luca's grandma was there, too because she would take care of luca while his mom would bring baby Chiara for 6 weeks check up. So it was a short playdate, but Nadia was so happy to see her old buddy.
Too bad Mommy forgot to bring the camera, but Oba took one picture of nadia and Luca sitting on the chair together.

Mom tried to have her color with other color, like red, or pink, or yellow... no.. she just want brown that night. When she almost finished, mom tried to flip the page for her to start coloring with purple or blue color. NO.. she flipped back the page, and finishing up what you see a tiny white area which she has not finished yet. Posted by Picasa

On Friday, Nadia went home with a parcel, from her school. It's a Mother's day Gift she made at the school. I was instructed not to open it until Sunday, Mother's day.
It was really nice handcraft Nadia and her teacher made. She also said :"Happy Mother's Day" several times on this weekend. Posted by Picasa

2 year (belated) check up.

Mom picked up Nadia at school. She was so happy to see mom but at the same didn't want to leave. She ate all her lunch. So we went to the pediatric office to have Nadia 2 year old check up today. It is 2 months late but apparently her pediatrician, Dr. Sandvig is very popular so she is always so booked up for a longer appointment.
Good thing, she won't need any vaccines or shots today. It was really easy. For some reason, Nadia always cries when she sees the nurse when she is checking on Nadia's height.... it's just so funny.
We had a long talk with Dr. Sandvig. Nadia told stories about her school bus (of course, she lent her school bus for her), she asked the Dr. to read her books. She laughed, and said thank you and also said: "I like Dr. Sandvig".
Conclusion :
Nadia's really healthy. She had never have any antibiotics since she was born, means.. never had any infection. Knock the wood, hope it says that way.
Her language skill is like a 3 year old, everything is pretty good for Nadia's development, including her height (she is very tall, in the 95th percentile), and she is growing in her curve in weight and height, of course, like parents like child, she is a lean girl, so she is in between 25th to 50th percentile in weight, for mom and dad means, whenever we travels, we can carry nadia for a long time... yay!!!!
Nadia can count to 17, knows exactly her alphabets and colors, can play with 5 pieces of puzzles, and now, she has her imaginary friends (she makes her school bus to be her best buddy, she would feed it, talk and read books for it, and sleep with it...)
Dr. Sandvig is very pleased with her development, especially her communicating skill, because Nadia talks very very clearly.
So she said to her : "I will see you next year.." and Nadia replied : "See you next year"

She is a very gentle, easy going girl, very happy and friendly girl.
She waves goodbye and say hi to everyone in the waiting room before she left the office.
She also got to eat a lollipop from Dr. Sandvig, she would crack them and chew it.... so it only took her literally 3 minutes to finish her big lollipop.

Very tired girl

Mom picked Nadia up from the school. The teacher told Mom that Nadia didn't want to take nap at the school. She was completely fine and happy when she got in the car, so Mom told her that we would pick her movies and books at the library. It took us only 5 minutes from school to the library. On the way back, the girl fallen asleep. We tried to wake her up when we got home, making sure she wouldn't go to sleep to early of the evening. She was so sleepy but of course, then she woke up and played happily and it was time to go to bed, she didn't want to go.
She got so attached with her school bus. She makes her school bus as her favorite friend, she would talk to school bus, feed and give drinks to the school bus, even take it everywhere she goes, including the bathroom. She would let school bus sit on the step stool next to her potty and talk to it while she was doing poopy or peepee, and says :"look, school bus, Nadia is poopying." Posted by Picasa

True girl

After bath in the evening, Mommy came up with the idea of curling Nadia's hair with curling iron. At first, she didn't want to try, scared to see the curling iron, but then Mom showed how it works with Mom's hair sample. Then she sat down still (completely still) and watching TV letting Mom did the curling as long as Mom takes. Then she would say :"Mommy is curling Nadia's hair"
It took Mom good 15 minutes to do the whole hair. How does Nadia look with wavy hair ? Posted by Picasa

Diligently stripping all her crayons

Nadia loves stripping off her crayons. It was hard task, it took her a while, but she wouldn't stop doing that until all her crayons are 'naked'. Posted by Picasa

Nadia's school bus is sick!

Daddy tried to fix Nadia's school bus. It needs battery replacement, but we went over and over to the toolbox, we couldn't find the right screwdriver, until Nadia came to us and said: "I find IT!!!!" then she tried to fix it her self. Mom was surprised how she could put the battery in herself. She just saw mom did it once, then she follow. It was kinda hard for a 2 year old to put the battery in the battery compartment with the spring on. Posted by Picasa

Another play date with the Kolz's
