Nadia visited Aidan and Mommy at the hospital at night.

Mommy gave her present (supposedly from her little brother)
Nadia : "Present!!!!"
Mommy : "It's from Baby Aidan. Do you want to read the card, first ?"
Nadia : "Yeah!"
Mommy : reading the card... "Dear Nadia.. thank you for letting me being your little brother..
Half way done reading the card, nadia cut me off.
Nadia : "No, mommy, he cannot talk, he only can cry" then left the bed... carrying her present.

Ammar and Sari looked at each other, surprised. She is too smart!!!

Getting better

Tonight, when we were eating dinner, we kept teasing Nadia about baby Aidan. Nadia got deaf suddenly when we asked her about Aidan... but she will answer anything we asked her other than Aidan.

She left the table earlier than us, to check Aidan who was sleeping in the playpen. We heard the noise from him, so we asked her to check on him. Nadia went to peek on him and said : "He is yawning!!"

Not long after he cried a bit.. time for feeding... she said she will give pacifier for him, she tried so hard to put on him and he took it.. he stopped crying, then Mommy got him and changed his diaper first. Nadia went to mommy and brought pillow, and she said : "Here's his pillow...here you go, Aidan" and the three of us were so surprise to see how much she cares...

I have nothing to do with him

Nadia, who is now a big sister, was asked by her daddy this morning before he headed to the office.
This time she decided to drink milk with her mommy since she has no Aidan around.

Daddy : "Nadia, do you think you will take care of Aidan or you have nothing to do with him ?"
Nadia : "I have nothing to do with him"
Mommy : "Well, maybe later, Nadia. Love doesn't come fast, it takes time, right ?"
Nadia : "U-huh."
Daddy : "Well, maybe later Nadia, you will take care of Aidan or still have nothing to do with him ?"
Nadia : "I have nothing to do with him"

Haha, the little girl is still jealous.. which is normal. She cares about him, but she just trying to swallow everything is going on, whether she is sure that she loves him or not. But, when my Mom asking her is she can bring him to Jakarta if she doesn't want it, she said, no... she wants him.

The girl lost her ears

This morning, Nadia supposed to have playdate with Bella, She was sick, cough and runny nose, so we decided to postpone it.

Mommy cuddled with Nadia, and she was sitting on mommy's lap when Aidan cried.
Nadia : "What's that ?"
Mommy : "Aidan is crying, he is hungry"
Nadia : no comment
Mommy : "Is it okay to feed him now ? You are eating cotton candy now, he only can drink milk from Mommy "
Nadia : no comment, kept watching TV
Mommy asked 3-4 times.. no response..
Mommy : "You just lost your ears, Nadia"
Nadia : (immediately touch her right ear) "No, mommy, it's still there"
Mommy : (smiling inside) "Oh,... can I get Aidan now ?"
Nadia : silent.. no response...

Finally mommy get Nadia out of her lap and said : "Okay, I am going to get Aidan, poor baby, he is hungry. You sit next to me, okay ? then we cuddle again"
Nadia : "silent" not saying anything but sat next to me....
She is a funny girl.

We know this will happen as she never like babies or any child even the same age as hers but have less ability to talk or play like Nadia, so all her friends have been older than her, if not 3-4 months older. One of her best friend is Bella who is 2 years older and she plays so good with her.

They look alike. We thought that Aidan looks like Nadia, and Sari thinks Aidan is a bit different than Nadia in terms of the Manly looking. What really surprises Sari is that Aidan has the same exact dimples location as Nadia and Ammar. She found it so cute. (actually she found that those dimples belong to Ammar were so cute, they were right on the smile line).
So tonight, I looked at Nadia's newborn pictures and found this one and we compared.. they look like twins!!!

It was dawn when we spotted bambies (deers) trying to eat our grass... Nadia was so excited, she watched them carefully from the window while we turned off all our house lights so we will not scare them, still they ran away.

Finally, Nadia become a big sister. On the day Aidan was born, she came to the hospital and sat next to Mommy in her bed, she hold the baby (a bit hesitate, I think she was in shock how soft and fragile the baby, not like the ones she has been touching, the baby doll), and she took pictures. That's about it. She didn't come near at all after that. She just watched him being hold by her grandma and her daddy. But, good thing, she agreed to kiss his leg when she was going home. Ammar didn't let her kiss her because she got cold.

The next day, she got the flower, a big sister from Mommy Maria. And also, a goodie bag!!! Yay !! Thank you, Mommy Maria!! You are the best.

On the day that Aidan comes home, we picked her up at her school. She got all excited that there was a baby Aidan's sitting in the used to be empty car seat and she said :
"Mommy, Baby Aidan's here"
On the way home, she had a tear break, but she didn't cry, she tried to express her emotion but she couldn't so she just said"
Mommy... I ... I.... I..... then she got tears in her eyes... Gosh.. I almost cried, too. Never seen her like that. She must missed me so much and she couldn't express her feeling. Ammar and I were looking at each other in a surprise to see how much she was angry and sad and happy to see her mommy and still could hold herself to be a big girl.

The minutes we got home, she sat on the sofa, watching tv, she didn't want to get near the baby. Ammar tried to show the baby, she leaned away and said no. That's okay, Nadia.. we understand, you must be scared that we won't love you the way we were. We loved you so much the way we used to be, no change.

How we came out with the name

We finally came out with the agreement for the second child's name, AIDAN. Since it is not Arabic or Indonesian name, we agreed that we will put a middle name Omar. We both like the names. Thanks God, since when we were pregnant with Nadia, we didn't have any boys name at all.

Ammar got baby shower on Nadia's birth from his office and he got this cute little teddy bear, and we thought she will like the teddy bear so much, so whenever she goes, this teddy bear always comes with her. Sari brought Nadia to her friend's house and she has 3 girls, the oldest, Syifa who was 6 years old who loves Nadia so much asked me for the name of the teddy bear. I said he doesn't have the name. Her mother asked her to name the teddy bear, she came out right away with the name AIDAN. We asked why Aidan ? She said it's Nadia's name, spelled backwards. We both thought it was so smart of her.
Eversince we brought teddy bear Aidan wherever we went, even when we went to Hawaii, but when we moved to Michigan, and we brought this teddy bear to the mall and Nadia dropped it and we lost teddy bear Aidan.

Aidan is so popular namer recently. Everywhere there is Aidan. Ammar was still not sure about the name, but we both loves the name, and it is perfect because we only wants 2 kids, so the flipped names are nice. People thought it was really cool, too to have a backward spelling of names of both kids. They usually didn't think about it until we told them how we got the name. One day, we went to Luca's birthday party, right before Nadia and Sari went to Indonesia, and Ammar talked to the father of Luca's friend, Aidan, and he told Ammar how he loves the name and it went to Pottery Barn catalog, means the name is so popular... so Ammar finally decided, Aidan it is. Yay.. Sari was happy.

Mommy got Nadia from bed this morning, after she drinks her milk, Mommy talks to her :
Mommy : "Nadia, tomorrow, you are going to be a big sister. I am so proud of you" (Mom kissed Nadia)
Nadia : Nodding and kissed Mommy back, smiling.
Mommy : "Oh, thank you Nadia. So tomorrow, you are staying home with your grandma, Mommy and Daddy will go to the hospital"
Nadia : "I want to come with you, Mommy"
Mommy : "I don't think so, Nadia. You have to take a nap, once the baby is born, Daddy will come and pick you up and you can go to the hospital. okay ?"
Nadia : "Okay, Mommy"

Such a loving little girl she is. I am in love with her, and I am a bit worry, I have never been separated from Nadia since she was born...

The eyes are from black olives, the nose is made from Carrot, the hands are from the pocky chocolate snack, and the buttons are from Hershey valentine's chocolate kisses. (thanks Mommy from bringing all the goodies out!)

Eating brunch, as usually Nadia's grandma has lots of preparations before she started eating.

 

Snowman making process!!! No, you don't need to roll the snow balls, just use bucket and because the snow is too dry, we need to wet it with hot water.... "Mommy, we need hot water please!!!" "Mommy, we need eyes, mouth, buttons, please" "Mommy, we need more water, please"
Since it's only 2 more days for the baby to born, Mommy just taking pictures from the inside of the sunroom and gave them whatever they needed to make snowman.

Sari's mother also joined them to get some snow out, but it didn't take her 5 minutes to be out. She rushed in because she was too cold.

A sick girl

 

 

 

For the first time (record that Nadia blew up!!!), Nadia slept with us together in the bed after waking up at 1.30 am crying because she spiked a fever. Yes, it's the second time she woke us up crying from her fire truck bed .. last time because she got nose bleed, but then she decided to sleep back in her fire truck bed.
Nadia had fever last night, and we thought she might have a strep throat because she always cries when she eats, she said her teeth are hurting... mommy, a dentist checked on her, no, she doesn't have cavity on her molars... she had a bit of reddish gum from being poked by the tooth brush last time but it should not make her cry to eat. She got swollen gland on her right side, being on he high fever (102 degree), we decided not to have her go to school (too bad because it's a valentine's day party at school) and bring her to her pediatrician to have the swab culture and again, break the record of having an antibiotic the first time in Nadia's first 3 years of life. Here are the pictures of a sick girl, waiting to go to her doctor. She had a blast at the doctor's office because they were so nice and she got a special gift from the nurse and the doctor.. and it turned out that she might just have some kind of virus or just a cold, but she is negative for the strep so no need for antibiotic. Nadia, can you make another year without antibiotic ? I will be so proud of you then (which I have already so proud of her).
She told me she liked Dr. Sandvig and she wants to see her again. Yes, you will Nadia, on your wellness 3 year old check up in 3 weeks.

We had a playdate with Bella to have a haircut done here. Bella did hers done first so Nadia can watch her and have hers done easily, too. She had gone to the kiddy cuts in Indonesia before, but the first time here in the states. Thanks to Mommy who has been cutting her hair since she was born (and.... Daddy's hair) Both kids are a natural soon to be women, they have no problem sit still to have their body pampered.

They both had a wonderful time at the salon, they watched movie together... Nadia went home and said she wanted to go to salon again with Bella, then watch Dora and Diego together. Bella has been so like a big sister to Nadia, she helped her up to get up to the chair.... Thank you, Bella.
