Farrell's birthday party

After the photoshoot we ate at Pizza Hut, on the way back both me and Nadia were so exhausted.. We slept and woke up so late that we were late for the birthday party. She missed the clowns they hired for the birthday party, still Nadia had fun at the birthday party of her cousin, Farrell.
We were so late that she is still wearing the dress from photoshoot.... I didn't get a chance to even change her when she woke up.

Photoshoot

Lisa, my friend's Bill's wife who is still got stranded in Indonesia (go figure.. the visa thing!!!) hired a photographer to take pictures of Nadia. So Nadia was scheduled to have photoshoot from morning to night. Since her cousin, Farrell have a birthday party in the afternoon. we cut it short only for morning session. It was a hell of hot weather anyway. Lisa is just a nature enterpreneur. Nadia was just so happy watching and singing with her while she was taken the pictures by 3 photographers, with addition of mommy who also brought her camera along with her. I almost passed out for the heat!!! Nadia ? She was okay eventhough she was soaked in sweat.
Here are the pictures I took (until now we still haven't gotten the pictures from the photographer yet!!)

Spent whole day

Sari's both legs are swollen, since yesterday Ammar asked to have it ultrasound to rule out the blood clot after flying. So in the morning, we went to my sister's house, Ezzy, Nadia played a bit in the backyard, then we went to the hospital together, where my sister Ezzy have her residency there. As a dentist, I got free doctor's charge, I just paid the 'material' fee (the machine). It turned out that there was no blood clot, thanks Goodness. Nadia was an angel, we spent at the hospital since 11 and we finished at 3 pm. While Sari got her leg ultrasound, she spent the time playing with Ezzy's friend at the ENT clinic. Nadia was still not eating, she kept eating the pringles, though.
Nadia worried about her mommy so much, she kept checking on her feet, touching it and asked her mommy :"Is it hurting, Mommy ? Are you okay ?" She behaved so well at the hospital (it's very boring at the hospital) but she had to take care of her mommy. I love you, Nadia.

Safari Zoo

We went to drive about 1.5 hours up to the mountain to Safari Zoo. We had so much fun. Nadia was just so happy. This is the best zoo trip ever since we saw lots of animals so upclose. We bought bunch of baby bananas and when we saw Llama (Nadia called it Llama de llama) my mother opened the window and gave it to one of the Llama... the llama loved it and kept holding the car to pass by, until we tricked her!!!! Nadia also gave the banana to the other Llama.
She also went on the train and also rode a very beautiful WHITE pony.

At night, we went to my auntie's house, who passed away 40 days ago. Nadia got to meet most of my relatives. She was so friendly and so well behaved, she handshaked and kissed everyone there.

Zoo in the afternoon

Nadia got so spoiled by my sister, Fina and her husband, Thohir (Nadia call him Atoli) and she also called Fina (mommy froggy). They made a big tent inside the house, too.
In the afternoon, they took Nadia to the zoo, and she loved it, feeding the elephant, deers, and giraffee. She didn't spend too long there but it's enough for her to play with the animals, unlike the zoo in the US, the animals are so close to us, we can touch them and we can feed them anything you want, not having to buy a ripped off price girraffee food at the Zoo and found out it's only a regular cracker for $5 each!! On the way back, we met with her cousins and her auntie (ezzy) at the mall (she fell asleep in the car), she only wanted to eat ice cream, and after eating ice cream, thanks to still suffering from jetlag, she fell asleep again at the mall while everyone tried to wake her up to play with her.

Trip has begun

We left early in the morning to get to the Detroit Airport, Nadia got so attached with her Daddy, and Daddy kept holding Nadia and she was so spoiled for the whole week before she left. We flew with a small airplane direct to New York. Nadia saw the pilot and she waved to him, the pilot invited Nadia to get in the cockpit. Very unusual for being invited to go inside the cockpit post September 11... she got so excited.
She was truly an angel, her daddy told her to take care of her mommy and baby brother. She did. We walked so far to the gate, almost miss our plane, so I kinda dragged her when we walked... she didn't complain. She told me she took care of me. I said thank you, she said your welcome. I love you, Nadia. In the plane she kept asking about her Daddy. When we landed, she got invitation again to see the cockpit, everyone loves her because she was so well behaved. Lucky girl!

We arrived in NY, it was so traffic that I forgot already how if feels to be in NYC again... my friend, auntie Icut came to pick us up, we got home like 3 hours after.... Nadia fell asleep in the car, of course she is so extrovert, she loves everyone in NYC, because I told her they are my old friends when Mommy lived there. She got presents from auntie Icut, too.

Her new thing :
Mommy : "eat the candy Nadia, so it will pop your ears"
Nadia : "I am eating candy.. yay!"

The next day in New York City :
Nadia : "Mommy, I need candy to pop my ears, please!!!"
Mommy : "Nadia, you are not in the airplane"
Nadia : "Mommy, I need to pop my ears!!!!"

Just in case we miss each other

Daddy and Nadia,

Just in case you miss each other, please just look at this picture. See each other in 1 month.

Love,
Mommy

Sleep deprivated

This is the second nights that I can't sleep. I am up at 3.15 am... realizing that I still misses some stuff for the luggage and worry that I might forget things. Ammar already put our 2 big luggages in the car, ready to go. I am also worry that I would be overweight for the domestic flight.. they might not following that we have an international flight that has a better leeway of max weights requirements. We will have 70 lbs each piece for our Singapore Airlines Executive Class to go to Singapore, but we will have to deal with only 50 lbs max weight from Continental Air. We only bring 1 little duffel bag for our stuff to spend in NYC for 2 nights, then 1 30" luggage (not even full with our clothing) and 1 24" luggage (which are full of gifts for family!!!), a car seat to be checked. Both of them are weighing about 50 lbs, but it might be over when you check them at the airport. The rest is just a small carry on for Nadia's seat to attached on it, my back pack, and Nadia's little Mickey's Back Pack (her Cars are inside with a little doodle pads)

We are leaving in 4.5 hours and I am so nervous. I am very nervous about flying by myself and also with a toddler. Ammar has been in consult on call since Thursday and he would not go home until 7pm (last night, he went home at 7 pm and he said it was really early for him just because we were leaving and he wanted to have his haircut.... with me.... before I left).

It was so funny that we let Nadia played by herself and we went to laundry room to cut his hair. We told Nadia that Mommy were going to cut Daddy's hair and she can come at anytime to laundry room if she needs something. She checked on us, to see what's going on and then she asked Daddy... "Are you scared ?"
Daddy : "No, I am not scared"
Nadia : "Do you want me to hold your hand ?"
Daddy : "Yes, please!!"

She hold her Daddy's hand for a full 5 minutes and went back to play again....

It is a very good time for us to leave the country just because Ammar's schedule will be so hectic until the time he fly to fetch us on the 18th of December, between the on calls and conference. The only time he would be relaxing is the thanksgiving time..... we will miss you so much!!!!!

Mommy and Daddy

We couldn't pick Daddy's black car from the store, so we left it overnight. Nadia woke up so happy and saying to her Daddy (who picks her up every single morning from her fire truck bed!!! Yes... my daughter is an angel, she still doesn't go out of her bed by herself, but she can if she wants to) : "Daddy, I am going to leave you!"
The rest of the whole routine (Drink milk, cuddle, washed up, and get dressed) is with Mommy.
Daddy decided to take Mommy to the shop instead of waiting for them to pick her up at home. So both of us, taking Nadia, walked her up to the school. She got so excited!!!! She gave each of us a big kiss and big hugs for us (very equally).
It was really nice spending time with my husband on the way to the shop, just the two of us in the car (has not happened since Nadia was born). Yeah, I really needs my mom to come here since the other baby will come.

The rest of the time until I should pick Nadia up is like a lightning. I haven't done even half of my errand's target then I had to pick Nadia. Forgot about the pizza day today. So I ended up playing with Nadia at lunch. She was so happy today to see me picking her up.

She got goodie bags (I made after I found lots of small toys when I organized the whole house!!!), then she went to sleep. It's so easy to put Nadia to nap now. I just send her to the bed room door (or send her from downstairs) and said : "Go to nap, I love you.. Good night!!!" She will say " Okay, Mommy, I love you so much.. Good night, Mommy" then bring her pillow (yes, a pillow is her teddy bear, goes everywhere she goes in the house), play a bit, tug herself under the blanket, then sleep.
I checked on her after 30 minutes. I found her in a very unusual position.. she was sleeping halfway sitting down, tummy down, hugging her fire truck bed!!!!!! I fixed her position to the 'normal' sleeping... and thought that it was so funny, that she hugs her fire truck bed because she knows she won't sleep and see the bed for the next 1.5 months.!!!!

Nadia also felt the baby kicks her... after woke up in the morning, I put her in my lap, holding her and give her milk, and I felt the tummy which was against her lower body is moving, yes, the baby kicks hard..... I looked at her.. and asked : "Did you feel it ?" She laughed, and said : " yes.. the baby kicks me!!!!!" It happened again 3 times after that. This is the first time she felt the real kicks... not the fake kicks I usually did for her, by pushing my belly suddenly when she put her hand on mine.

So everyone, you won't hear from us until Wednesday the 22nd... as we are leaving to New York City (watching Disney On Ice) and heading to Jakarta after 2 nights.

Lunch date and a melt down child

Ammar and I switched cars today. I supposed to bring the car to the shop after taking Nadia to school. Yeah, it's Thursday but Nadia went to school, just for a half a day. And tomorrow, which supposed to be full day, also going to be another half a day. Apparently, the coolant hoses were not arrived yet, so I had to go back again at around 1 pm. Then at 11 am, after went to the bank to get cash for the trip, Ammar called, a nice surprise, that he was free and we ended up eating at the Zingerman's. It was really a nice date. I joked with him when we saw each other at the parking lot, and I handed my hand and said :"Hi, my name is Sari. It is nice to meet you." The food was great and after that, I picked up Nadia.
Arrived at the school right when everyone was getting ready to bed. Surprisingly, I found Nadia was on Mehar's hug, crying so deeply, no sound. No one knows what's going on. I can tell that she is pretty worried sick that she has to travel just with mommy and Daddy doesn't come along. The minute she saw me, she hugged me and cried. Then, in the car, she said that she doesn't want to fly. She wants to go home. Too bad, we had to bring back the car. The shop took us back home and Nadia took a nap. She was so happy at the shop and all the time when she was with me. She got to have a lollipop the owner of the shop gave her.
Daddy came home, and Nadia played with him, unusually more friendly to him than ever. She will definitely miss her Daddy. She even had a great time in the bath with Daddy.
Now, I am worry that I have to deal with a toddler who is so worry about her trip to Indonesia. Yes, this is her first time of her knowledge (last time she was 9 months old) that she will go away without Daddy. When Daddy went to Utah not long ago, she didn't even notice because she was home with me. This time, she is leaving!!!!
I set up a webcam on Ammar's computer hopefully we can see each other.....

That's my goody bag

I put Nadia's presents from Maria near the door in the bedroom. She walked in today to the baby's room and found a bag with colorful gifts inside.

Nadia : "Hey, that's a goody bag!!!!"
(Nadia now knows what goody bag, treats, etc...very very very well)
Mom : "That's for you, Nadia... that's from Mommy Maria, for your plane ride"
Nadia : "Yay!!!"

We read the card together, and just let her open the presents one by one.... she is such a good girl, she didn't ask me to open the boxes just because I told her that Mommy Maria won't let her open it until she is in the plane.

In the car today :
Mommy : "Are you princess Nadia ?"
Nadia : "No, mommy. I am not princess. Barbie is princess"
Mommy : "But your name is Nadia Sarah. Sarah means princess. So you are my princess"
Nadia : "No, mommy. I am not princess.
Mommy : "So, what are you, Nadia ? Are you my baby ?"
Nadia : "No, mommy, I am not your baby. I am Nadia"

At night :
Daddy : "Nadia, where is your baby brother ?"
Nadia : "In mommy's belly!!!! Can I touch it, mommy ?"

Breakfast date with Maria, Luca's mom

Very busy day today. After dropping Nadia at school, I met with Maria nearby the house for breakfast date. We really had a wonderful time just the 2 of us, no children around. Maria was so sweet that she got a bag full of toys for Nadia, for the plane ride. We got 3 kinds of gifts, a puzzle, write and wipe off cards for alphabet (which is so much cooler than the similar item I just got for Nadia's plane ride), and Dora memory card game.
Then I had to rush to dentist's office for the cleaning appointment. Then I ran around to do some errands, including buying the webcam for Ammar and knick knacks for the rest of my list for the 19 hours plane ride.
The guest bedroom in my house is full of stuff that I thought I might sort it out to be put in the luggages and carry ons... Ammar peek in the room and he whisper to me, laughing :"Sari, I am going to kill you if you leave the room like that!!!"
Nadia had a good time at school and we took a bath together. Daddy came home real late, by the time he was home, she was ready for bed. I asked him to read for him but he was too tired and hungry to read for Nadia. Nadia yelled at Daddy and said: "DADDY!!!!! READ A BOOK!!!!" Stubborn Daddy still didn't read the book. Being a dislexic makes him very lazy to read. He came downstairs and laugh... laugh... laugh.. telling me that his precious daughter got so mad because he didn't read a book... I told him : "You are nasty!!!" But Nadia ended up giving a kiss to him and said good night.

Thanksgiving party at school

Nadia had a thanksgiving party at school. (I stole Sara's photo from Zoe's page.. thanks Sara). All parents brought some thanksgiving dishes for the kids to eat during lunch time. It was so funny because the director, Miss Mehar told me that she made it a week before so Nadia can attend it. Yes, we are leaving in less than a week. Time flies, I feel like my brain and body doesn't synchronize together.
It was so funny to see Nadia got so excited seeing me at school. She was about to go to the playground, and she came to hug me, and then I asked her to follow the group, I told her :"Go, Nadia... go to the playground, Mommy will help out with the lunch. I love you Nadia" She walked outside and said :"I love you, soooo much!!!"
They came back from playground and started to dressed up like pilgrims.. and ate lunch together....
After lunch, she said that she wanted to go home.. I told her, no, because I have lots of stuff to do the errands, and I tugged her in her cot at school. I told her, I promised to pick up early right after she woke up from nap.
Apparently, Daddy came home very early, he then picked up Nadia at 4 pm... She told Daddy she wanted to call Mommy.. so she did talk with Mommy on the phone. It is so funny to hear how she talks on the phone and tells stories, also asked questions... "Mommy, are you home ? Where are you ? Are you upstairs ? Did you go to the doctor ?" (yes, I was planning to go to the doctor's office to ask for medical clearance letter for Nadia, but then I forgot!!!"
She enjoyed staying at home longer than usual.
After bath, we asked Nadia to go to her bed by herself, she pulled my hand, asking me to go with her to her room. So we teased her, both of us ran to her bedroom saying :"Nadia, we both are going to sleep in your fire truck bed!!! You stay here at our room, okay ?" She didn't follow us to her bedroom as usual... poor little girl, she was so sad that we left her.. she told her daddy :"I am so sad, you left me...." We told her... "Oh we are sorry, we are just teasing you... the bed doesn't fit us, Nadia"
She was happy back... and mommy read her book, then she asked for a big kiss.. and said "Good night, Mommy.. I love you so much!!!"
Ammar got a bit sick today.. I hope he won't get sick like me....

New glasses for Sari

After story time at the library today (again, Nadia had a good time), we went to Kellog's Eye Hospital to get my new glasses. It cost so much (hint : almost as expensive as my original camera lens I begged Ammar to get for me). He got the glasses for me. He told me it's like jewelry, expensive but looks good. He got me the high end glasses, frameless, new technology. We sat a bit outside and had Nadia played with her new yellow bettle car. Wonderful day outside, and I told him.. hey!!! I'd rather get a new camera zoom lens for me than those very expensive glasses!!! (I could get third of the price in Indonesia). No comment from Ammar.
Okay.. I take it as a baby present from him

One funny thing that when we walked in the corridor, it really look like the airport, Nadia asked me : "Are we flying now, Mommy ? " I told her : "No... we are not flying, this is a hospital... but looks like airport, doesn't it ?" She said : "Yeah!!!" Mommy, I don't want to ... I don't want to leave Daddy!!!!

24 weeks check up

Appointment with the OB today. I will have another lab check before I leave for the glucose test. I brought home a bottle of juice like.. really look yummy.. That's the glucose I need to drink prior to the test.. I am planning to do it on Wednesday.
Everything looks great, the baby is active, the size is up to date.. and I got clearance letter to fly and also a print out of my tests for me to bring to Jakarta and continue the check up.
Tomorrow is an election day. I am still sick like crazy... I managed to pick Nadia up, feed her (she got special treat, mcDonald's and halloween chocolate, and surprised!!! She finished her McDonald's chocolate milk), bath, and read stories. I even jumped in her firetruck bed for a good 15 minutes because she wants to cuddle. While Nadia sleeeps, I continue packing. I finished the big luggage. Now, go to the smaller one...
Ammar will come home late again, tennis as usual.

Jenny's Farm (part 1)

Uncle Bill took Nadia to the Jenny's Farm with Daddy. Daddy went to Lowe's and picked Nadia up afterwards while Mommy stayed home, finishing the bulb planting.
Nadia had a wonderful time, she made friend, Kelsey, a 3 year old, they rode the horses together, sat on the swing. Nadia always love the baby pony "Sugar". She loves to pat her. Mommy stole these picture's from Uncle Bill's camera.
Mommy also ordered pumpkin donuts, they made it rightaway in front of you. For the first time, Nadia ate whole donut, then she said: "I don't like it!" I wonder if she likes it, how many she would eat..
