Best time of her life

Nadia had the best time in her life today. She woke up this morning, finding out that her "mommy froggy" (my sister, Fina) woke her up. She jumped up and hugged her and said : "Mommy Froggy!!!!!" She played with her the whole morning while Ammar and I finished up the flower beds around the house... then we cooked for the guests who wanted to come to see my mother and my sister. This guests are Swedish American family who used to live in Medan (Sumatera, Indonesia) in 1958. They had the whole world living there, and when they met us at one of the fair, we became friends. The loved the food, and they missed the food so much, we made some Indonesian dishes and they brought the deserts (yummy....!). Auntie Lisa and Uncle Bill also came from Bay City, my sister brought her some stuff left from Indonesia. Nadia had so much fun playing with auntie Lisa, Uncle Bill, Barbara (the daughter who is now a 6th grade teacher) read the books for her, and she enjoyed the gifts she got from the couple as well.
Nadia was in heaven for the whole day. She had so much fun and she looked so cute today, wearing the dress my other sister sent from Indonesia.
PS : No nap today, too!!!

Get ready to get embarassed

I promised Nadia after she took a nap, we will go out to have ice cream downtown. While she was sleeping, I went to cut the grass with the tractor. I looked at my mom's bedroom window, I saw Nadia waving bye bye, I went inside, asking why Nadia was not sleeping. She told me she saw a bug in her room. I went inside her room and she pointed out where she saw the bug. I saw a carpenter ant on one of her chair, I killed it and took it out. I sent Nadia to bed again, and she slept, for real.

We went to the ice cream parlor, eat yummy ice cream and she saw a father with a pony tail, she (which has 2 ponytails today) pointed out on him and said : "Look mommy! He has ponytail. I have ponytail, too, but my daddy doesn't have ponytail like he does." Oh no...

Then we went to the playground next to the fire house, she saw the firetrucks, then played on the playground. She instantly make friends with a 5 year old girl, Alex. She played with her as if she is her bestfriend for life.
She came to the playground with her baby brother, a 6 months old, and her mom and dad. I told her that she is a big sister too and has a baby brother, too. Nadia was so happy that she also a big sister and has baby brother.

They played on the swing, and the mother (who is very obese) pushed her daughter. Nadia watched them and told me (I was pushing her swing, too) : "Mommy, the mother is very big, and Alex is big, too (Alex is obese,too, but not as bad as her mother).

I got panic, I was frightened that they heard her... I whispered to Nadia : "Nadia, you cannot say something like that. It is not nice... okay ?"

thanks God, she got it right away... and stop talking about it...

Oh boy, oh boy... oh boy.. She is so observant and so smart... I should be careful, I think next time I will be so embarassed... just wait..

My own bed

At night, Nadia for some reasons doesn't want to go to bed. For the first time in her life, she went out of her bedroom by herself, checking on Aidan's room and saw me nursing Aidan, she told me she was thirsty. I asked her to go to my bedroom to see her daddy and have a drink. She came to her daddy. After I finished nursing and tuck Aidan to sleep, I checked on her. She was ready to bed (in our bed) with us. I slept next to her.
She doesn't usually want to sleep with us, she loves her bed so much. I sometimes miss cuddling with her in my own bed, Ammar has the same thought, too. So we agreed that she is sleeping with us tonight.
After 3 minutes lying down together.. she sat up, and she whispered to her daddy and said : "I want to sleep in my own bed, Daddy!" Ammar said : "Okay, let's go... oh.. you go yourself, you are a big girl"
Nadia : "No, you take me. I am scared"
Daddy : "Okay, I will come with you."
They left to Nadia's bedroom. I am laughing myself, thinking that I will never have my daughter sleep with us.... Lucky ? I guess. She is such an independent girl. At least, we won't have a problem which some kids keep coming to their parents bedroom and sleep with them all the time.

Work on the yard (again)

This morning, I helped Ammar sharpened the blades of the mower to be ready starting the job cutting the grass. I got used to drill so much that Ammar trusted me with those drills.
Terri, our neighbor, asked if he could get the old mulch we are getting rid off so he can put it on his new flower bed as the base. He came with his tractor to get the mulch from us.. Nadia got so excited to see Terri and the tractor. She came and chatted with him. It was a bit cool outside so Nadia wore the teddy bear outfit.. so Terri called her Grizzly Bear. She loved to be called Grizzly.
Nadia came back home telling my mother that the grizzly bear is hungry and thirsty. My mom made her good amount of Mac and Cheese, she finished it all in no time. The time that we got home from the yard work for lunch, she had already finished her lunch and she was so proud of it.
After lunch, we got a guest, Terri's wife, June came by to see Aidan. Terri told her how much Aidan looks so big now, so she came by to check on him. We sat down in the sun room, had a nice conversation. Nadia was busy serving us food... she was so cute.
After that we walked around the grass in our yard, and Nadia picked lots of weed's flowers, and she counted them and said to me : "Look, I got lots of flower for my wedding. I am going to get married with LUCA"
(Maria, if you read this, be careful.. my daughter had crushed on Luca...."

Ammar got home and he kissed Nadia.

Ammar : "Hi, my Princess!!"
Nadia : "Hi, my King!!"

Today, she helped out to change Aidan's diaper.
Nadia : "Let me help, Mommy"
Me : "Can you take the buttons off, please ?"
Nadia : (grunting... ) "I did it, I am strong, Mommy. Aidan is naked"
Me : "Good, you are great big sister" (took the diaper, wiped him)
Nadia : "Euw... he smells poopy!!!"
Me : "Yes, he has stinky bump"
Nadia : "Hahaha...., that's okay, baby Aidan!"

Bath

Nadia has been taking a bath in the afternoons instead of the evenings with Daddy. I feel sorry for Ammar lately, he got home so tired from work, wakes up with Aidan in the middle of the night, doing the flower beds around the house and kills his back because of it.. so since in the afternoon I am not yet exhausted, I decided to put Nadia to bath in the afternoon right after she woke up from nap, drinking her chocolate milk in the bath tub, too. Yummy.. She loves it.

Daddy came to the bathroom, checking on her after he himself finished up his work at his office room.
Daddy : "Which one you like better to bath you, Mommy or Daddy ?"
Nadia : "Mommy.. because she doesn't pour water on my face."
Daddy : (filling up the bucket with water, pouring on her head brutally, laughing) "Like THIS ?"
Daddy and Mommy : (watching Nadia, thinking that she would get angry and scream like usual when her daddy does that)
Nadia : (out of breath, took her a while to react, and sweetly answered) : "yes"

We both laughed so hard.

First time dental appointment

I cannot be more proud of Nadia. She was so quiet, calm, and follow the instructions during the whole procedures, from introducing the instruments, checking her teeth, cleaning, polishing, taking x-rays, and final check up.
I can't wait for telling the whole story to Ammar when he gets home from work.
We ate at McDonalds and ate ice cream after.
I love the girl so much. The hygienist told me that Nadia's attitute towards the whole procedure was way beyond her age, she acted like she is a 5 year old. Yay Nadia.

Every body's wife

After dinner, we sat in front of the TV.

Ammar cuddled with me and gave me a kiss.
Ammar : "This is my wife." (looking at Nadia)
Nadia : (protesting) "No, She's my wife, too." (jealous)
Ammar : "No, she's MY wife."
Nadia : NOOOOO.. She is my wife. She is every body's wife!"
Me : (laughing).. "Oh, that's too scary to be every body's wife!"

It's too cold outside to play.. yes, it's April but we have the minus 5 celcius outside with snow showers on and off ... crazy!! Despite of the weather, Nadia had fun running around in the family room.

The new Jungle Java just opened days ago and we went today, had fun with Bella as usual. It's so big and much nicer than other kind of indoor playground around. The food was better but much more expensive. It was worth it since it is nearby. What's more, Nadia had a wonderful playdate!

He is my baby, too

Ammar called when I just finished up with Nadia's bathing. He talked to Nadia then talked to me, then I said : "Bye, baby". After I hung up, Nadia asked me : "What did you say to Daddy ?" I said : "I said bye, baby." Nadia : "Is Daddy a baby ?" I said : "He is my baby." Nadia : "He is my baby, too....."

Last night, Ammar took care of Aidan, he was fussy and I was exhausted, so he put him to bed, Nadia called him from her room. Ammar said : "I will be right there, nadia..." then after he put Aidan to bed, he came to Nadia's bed and rub her back, but then not long after, Aidan cried, and Nadia told her daddy : "Go, daddy. Go rub baby Aidan's back, too so he can go to sleep." Atta girl!!!!
